encoding - Which 2d barcode has the highest data capacity/density -

if wanted encode 2mb of data onto 2d-bar code, 2-bar code starting point or recommend.

there lots , different types of 2dbar codes out today,aztec 2-d barcodes,maxicodes,pdf417,microsoft hccb,vericodes....etc...lots.... unique in own way.

i guess in nutshell questions is.... barcode make start off point encode 2mb of data??

i tried reading through qr code international standard turns out @ version 40l amount of data encode on qr code

1) numeric data: 7 089 characters

2) alphanumeric data: 4 296 characters

3) 8-bit byte data: 2 953 characters

4) kanji data: 1 817 characters

which far cry 17million bits thats 2mb

after scan barcode can view photos of house/property on phone, dont have walk-in or wait open home,20 photos @ 100kb each 2mb

even if create single 2d barcode encode whole thing, user won't able scan whole thing in 1 go. no 1 has cellphone imager support kind of resolution. best bet qr-code url in it.

that said, things datamatrix , qr-codes extensible. have limit how data can encoded 1 block, can create code has multiple blocks. indeed, if @ this page, you'll see discussion of using pages full of 2d barcodes form of data backup. able fit 1/2 mbyte of raw data single page. that's @ 600 dpi, require scanner (not smartphone) decode.

from i've been reading, datamatrix tends have less overhead and, therefore, stuff more (payload) data square inch given dpi. need mobile app capable of shooting multiple images (tiles) of large image , either:

• compositing individual images 1 large 1 decoding or
• decoding each of smaller blocks , reconstructing original data pieces

i know of no app that.

i've pondered providing bulk data via 2d barcodes, well. pondering publishing mobile app in magazine , providing way people "download" app magazine, without needing provide website / ftp site download it. unfortunately, i'd first need provide app decode such monster. , end user have patient enough scan whole thing. luck that.

i might able provide large 2d barcode containing .torrent file , using existing bittorrent apps download resulting app; have .torrent recent linux live-dvd .torrent < 32 kb. chunk of data (an app or images) in mb or larger range ... not feasible through channel. , megabytes of data you're wanting provide ... again ... not feasible through channel.
